It is now appreciated that many micro-organisms preferentially exist at phase boundaries and biofilms are known to be of importance in domestic, medical and industrial settings.

With this in mind, the aim of the Biofilm Club is to bring together microbiologists and members of associated fields that are interested in biofilms. In doing so, original research is presented and ideas are exchanged to further our understanding of the development, processes, benefits and disadvantages of microbial biofilms

Change is in the air.....

It may already be apparent to you, but the next meeting at Gregynog will be the last of its kind. Following a majority vote by the membership, the Biofilm Club will be dissolved after the meeting in September.
This means that the meeting really is not one to miss!

The 2007 Gregynog meeting will be held on the 5th to the 7th of September.

Program details can be found here.
Registration is now open and details can be found in the June edition of the Newsletter

The Club holds regular workshops every 6 - 9 months a bi-annual general meeting in Gregynog, Wales (next meeting in September 2007). Articles from each Gregynog meeting appear in dedicated editions in the BBC series of books, a renowned publication in the field, and abstracts from the workshop in March 2004 were published in the Biofilms Journal. Membership of the Biofilm Club entitles you to a free copy of the BBC book.
